Social Responsibility News

In 2018 CPA was involved in several community events through the Social Responsibility Committee. We are excited about the upcoming calendar year. In addition to continuing to form teams on several fundraising walks, CPA is currently looking to establish relationships with some of the many outstanding groups and organizations in the Cleveland area who are raising awareness and resources for mental health initiatives that could greatly impact the community. We are also excited to facilitate CPA members’ engagement in volunteer activities in their areas of interest. We have identified the following organizations and opportunities:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland- regular after school tutor program, art activity, athletic challenge, service projects such as cleaning or painting, and a fundraising walk in June
  • Rape Crisis- helping with special events
  • Edwin’s Leadership and Restaurant- study skills and tutoring
  • Milestones
  • Greater Cleveland Food Bank
  • Recovery Resources
  • Gathering Place

If you have an interest in any of these particular organizations or opportunities, please contact the Social Responsibility chair, Jason Friedman by email at In addition, please send your own suggestions about other organizations and opportunities you are aware of or currently involved in. We are eagerly anticipating community involvement in the upcoming year and will be sure to inform you all about any and all opportunities to be involved.

Looking forward to seeing you out there,

Jason Friedman, Ph.D.,

Social Responsibility Chair, Cleveland Psychological Association
