Presenter: Dr. Britt Nielsen, Psy.D., ABPP

Please join Dr. Britt Nielsen, Psy.D., ABPP from MetroHealth Medical Center.  Many of us have transformed our practice during COVID to include telehealth. Dr. Nielsen has helped transition a department and an entire system to telehealth.  She will present the nuts and bolts of providing telehealth, the rules prior to COVID rules and how to maintain your expertise in telehealth moving forward. You will learn ethics and pragmatic issues for continuing to provide telehealth throughout the crisis and into the future. She will cover training, competency areas, obtaining consent, handling emergencies, and HIPPA compliance. There will be time for questions and discussion.


Dr. Britt A. Nielsen, Psy.D.,ABPP  is a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychologist at MetroHealth Medical Center and Associate Professor of Psychology & Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. Dr. Nielsen earned her  doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University.  Dr. Nielsen is the founding Training Director for the MetroHealth Psychology Doctoral Internship Program.  She has been involved in research on the use of telehealth in traumatic brain injuries since 2006.  She is a member of the Behavioral Health Board Steering Committee for Epic Enterprises, where she contributes her expertise in behavioral health and electronic health records to guide the development of the Epic EHR platform for behavioral health. In March, 2020, she lead the transition of behavioral health providers from face to face visits to the use of telehealth interventions.


1.5 MCE credits in Ethics will be provided from the OPA-MCE. The Cleveland Psychological Association, Inc. is approved by the Ohio Psychological Association, Inc., #06P0-341377843, maintains responsibility for the program.
