April 13 7:30-8:45PM: Self-Care Assembly, Spirituality and Mission
Join OPA’s Prevention and Wellness Program focused on spirituality and mission as they focus on research-supported and theoretically neutral self-care strategies. Various aspects of spirituality and mission, being called in your career, how spirituality can fuel and support optimism for clients (and yourself), as well as becoming a citizen-psychologist through social activism and justice. Tikkun, a Hebrew concept for healing and repairing the world, and psychologists’ role in the process will be explored.
April 19 6:30-7:30PM: Virtual Convention Pre-Game Social Hour
Join OPA’s Public Sector Interest Committee for a night of connection, networking, and virtual light heartedness! Celebrate this historic moment in OPA convention with fellow friends and colleagues across the state. Grab a tasty beverage, a comfy chair, and your favorite pair of sweats to spend the evening with them!
April 21- April 23 (various times): OPA 2021 Virtual Convention
The theme and title of this year’s virtual conference is “Interprofessional Alliances to Promote Growth in Times of Change.” Instructions on how to access pre-recorded sessions will be emailed to registrants ahead of time. Registration closes April 16th at midnight! April 23 8:30AM-3:30PM: Professional Responsibilities and Legal/Ethical Issues in Supervision
Paula J. Britton, Ph.D. is reviewing ethical and legal issues in supervision, including Ohio Laws, supervision laws/rules, professional standards, credentialing, route of reporting ethical violations, confidentiality and maintaining professionalism, and professional boundaries. Overall, how supervision can assist clinicians maintaining ethical/legal standards will be reviewed. 5 CE credits offered as Ethics CE!
May 5 6:00-7:30PM: Pathways to Licensure: An Early Career Psychologists & Association of Graduate Students Event!
This free panel will outline the steps for applying and obtaining licensure, demystify EPPP parts 1 and 2, and review the jurisprudence examination. Panelists have a wide range of training and experiences with licensure across different states and are eager to share study tips, practice advice, and relevant personal experience.
